Zanzibar Beach Vacation
Zanzibar Beach - A Vacation of A Lifetime
A vacation to Zanzibar offers the intrepid traveller the best that Africa’s coastal destinations has to offer. The islands of Zanzibar(also known as Unguja) and Pemba and surrounding peninsula together form Zanzibar are certainly one of the most interesting and restful locations in the world. With its Indian, Arab, Persian and Portuguese influences, Zanzibar is a mix of culture, people, tradition and color. Combine this with its natural beauty, tropical climate and laid back atmosphere, Zanzibar is, in our opinion, one of the best ways to start or end your Tanzanian safari vacation. It is located in the Indian Ocean, about 25 miles from the Tanzanian coast, and just 6 south of the equator.
The capital of the islands is Zanzibar City. The main island is 60 miles long and 20 miles wide. The coastal areas with white beaches, mangroves, lagoons and coral reefs compliment the richly fertile areas inland where the spice farms are situated. Zanzibar is also home to the historic Stone Town – said to be the only functioning ancient town in East Africa. Hang out experiencing the different aspects of Zanzibar is highly recommended.

Placed on Zanzibar west coast, stone town has a tropical climate typical of the East African coast. It is generally extremely humid with temperatures warm to hot all year round. Rainfall is extremely heavy mid-March to late May and in November. The top time to visit in Stone Town is during the warm and mostly dry December to February period or in the more relax June to October spring months, which offer the driest weather and chill temperatures.
The Safari Blue Trip in Zanzibar is yet another popular tour that we have been organizing for quite a while. This tour is the perfect option for sea lovers, and those who would like the opportunity of experiencing the sea and sea creatures in a unique way. This tour is in fact not only about a traditional boat trip or swim, as you will be able to do more than that.
First of all this is a full day tour. Consequently you are going to have the opportunity of spending a full day packed with different options. As a full day sea safari, this tour is very popular considering that it is only offered at the price of $50 per person. The dhow departs from Fumba Beach at 9am, and generally we get back at around 3:30pm.
Zanzibar Island is known for its beautiful sea and you simply cannot visit Zanzibar without making sure to enjoy its seas. This Safari Blue Trip in Zanzibar will give you a great possibility to do just that.
One of the main attractions of this tour is the 200 year old baobab tree. Many try to climb this tree so as to try to reach the top and enjoy the spectacular views from up there. Within its hollow trunk there are also coconut crabs living, so you might even be able to see one of these gigantic crabs.
During this tour you will also be given a guided tour of the well known mangrove lagoon. This is practically hidden away in Kwale Island, and if it were not for this tour you will not be able to visit this marvellous place. Being able to swim in this protected mangrove forest is quite simply an unforgettable experience, and many refer to it as a natural swimming pool. During high tide the experience is even more memorable.
You will also be able to see the naturally occurring sandbanks which the Menai Bay Conservation Society has said to be safe for swimming. So you could also take a dip there. Many tourists commented on the great time they had simply relaxing in gorgeous natural settings which are not to be easily found in many countries. The turquoise waters are crystal clear and you could easily manage to see dolphins swimming around the area.
This is simply quite like heaven on earth – ever imagined swimming in blue waters, or sunbathing on the white sandy beach with coconuts all above you – well, this is what it is like during this tour.
