Terms & Conditions
1. Introduction
These Terms and Conditions govern all bookings made with Meerkat Expedition. By confirming a tour, safari, trek, or any related service with us, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these terms.
2. Booking & Payments
A deposit of 30% is required to secure your booking.
The remaining balance must be paid at least 30 days before the start of the trip.
Bookings made within 30 days of departure must be paid in full immediately.
Payments can be made via bank transfer, mobile money, or approved online payment platforms.
3. Pricing & Inclusions
All prices are quoted in USD unless otherwise stated.
Prices include only what is clearly stated in the itinerary (e.g., accommodation, meals, park fees, transportation).
Excluded items may include personal expenses, tips, travel insurance, alcoholic drinks, visas, and optional activities.
4. Amendments & Cancellations by the Client
If you wish to amend or cancel your booking:
More than 60 days before travel: Full refund of deposit minus any non-refundable fees already paid to suppliers.
30–60 days before travel: 50% cancellation fee.
Less than 30 days before travel: 100% cancellation fee.
No refunds will be issued for:
Late arrivals
Early departures
No-shows
Unused services
5. Cancellations or Changes by Meerkat Expedition
Meerkat Expedition reserves the right to modify or cancel a trip due to:
Force majeure circumstances (e.g., weather conditions, natural disasters, political instability, park closures).
Operational needs beyond our control.
If we cancel a trip, clients will be offered:
An alternative trip of equal value, or
A full refund (excluding costs already paid to third-party suppliers).
6. Travel Insurance
All clients are strongly advised to obtain comprehensive travel insurance covering:
Medical emergencies
Evacuation
Trip cancellations
Lost luggage
Travel delays
Clients participate in all activities at their own risk.
7. Health & Fitness
Clients must ensure they are physically fit to participate in the activities booked.
For treks (e.g., Kilimanjaro), medical clearance may be recommended.
Meerkat Expedition is not liable for health complications arising from pre-existing conditions.
8. Risks & Liability
Safari and adventure travel involves inherent risks. While Meerkat Expedition prioritizes safety:
We are not liable for injury, illness, loss, or damage that occurs due to circumstances beyond our control.
Wildlife encounters are unpredictable; clients must always follow the instructions of guides.
Personal belongings remain the client’s responsibility at all times.
9. Accommodation & Transportation
We make every effort to provide the accommodation and vehicle type stated in the itinerary.
However, changes may occur due to availability or operational reasons.
Any replacements will be of equal or higher standard where possible.
10. Client Conduct
Meerkat Expedition reserves the right to refuse service or remove a client from a trip if their behavior:
Is unsafe
Disrupts the group
Violates local laws or park regulations
Harms wildlife or the environment
No refunds will be issued in such cases.
11. Complaints
If you experience an issue during your trip:
Report it immediately to your guide or tour coordinator.
If unresolved, submit a written complaint within 7 days of completing your tour.
We will work to resolve all matters fairly and promptly.
12. Governing Law
All bookings and disputes are governed by the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania.
Any legal actions must be filed within Tanzania.
